 The $1,000 Lindy Scholarship is in memory of Linda Huesman Lamb. Linda, a heart transplant recipient, activist for heart disease causes, wife, and mother; died in 1991, eight years after she received her transplant. Linda always admired and respected the many nurses who helped take care of her throughout her many years in and out of the hospital. She actually became good friends with several of them.
The Lindy Nursing Scholarship is a $1,000 stipend that is awarded to a resident of Montgomery, Greene, or Warren county in Ohio who is enrolled in an accredited school of nursing in Ohio. Other applicant criteria includes a record of academic achievement and intentions to practice nursing in Montgomery, Greene or Warren county upon completion of his or her education.

The 2011 Lindy Nursing Scholarship award will be presented at the 33rd Huesman Heart Open golf outing on Thursday, July 21 at the Sugar Valley Country Club in Bellbrook, Ohio.
